The Solcafe coffee processing plant realizes a series of activities to select and prepare the best coffee in the area in order to export this to other countries. The company has opened its doors for people interested in learning more about this process. This step is one of the many steps that are taken to turn coffee beans into a cup of coffee.

The trained personnel of Solcafe accompanies visitors, explaining and showing the whole process from receiving the coffee beans to drying, toasting, selecting and testing in the labs. Coffee from this plant has participated in international fairs and obtained several prices for its high quality and exquisite taste.

The company has received ISO 9001:2000 certification, which is an international standard regarding the quality of business processes. The plant is located at kilometer 120 of the highway between Managua and Matagalpa. Visitors pay a US$5 entrance fee. To undertake such a visit, the UCA San Ramón organization should be contacted at least 24 hours beforehand.
