Sábalos Lodge offers river-sided cabins that are all set up in a different style and that provide a spectacular view of the river. The hotel is built in harmony with the natural area surrounding it, and it is nature that dominates the atmosphere.

There is also a well-equipped restaurant specialized in serving fresh fish from the river - also available for small events for up to 25 people. From the hotel hikes can be undertaken using one of the several trails in the private natural reserve. Several other, diverse activities can also be organized by Sábalos Lodge, including kayak tours or caiman trips. Bicycles, canoes, and kayaks are also available for rent and the hotel also offers boat tours to the Indio Maíz Reserve and El Castillo.

My husband, daughter and I stayed at Sabalos in March of 2006. The facilities are rustic but charming. We loved watching the heron and other birds floating down the river on their own little island of "lily pads"!The gardens were filled with flowers and it was easy to catch a glimpse of a variety of iguanas and butterflies. Food was excellent. We enjoyed kayaking down the Sabalos river. Would recommend a stay to anyone who enjoys a night or two in a cabin!
