Albergue rural Nicaragua Libre is located within a spacious and productive hacienda managed by a friendly cooperative of farmers. Visitors can find some nice lodging possibilities in a rural setting, and it is a great starting point to undertake some activities in the neighborhood.

The place is composed of three rustic but comfortable dorm rooms. Every bed has a mosquito net and some space to store personal belongings.

There are some hammocks in front of the rooms, and the dining area is also close by. There is a small table with handicrafts that area for sale, made by people from the local community. In addition to the regular price per bed it is also possible to receive three meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for a total price of US$22.50 per person. Albergue rural Nicaragua Libre is managed by a cooperative of the organization UCA Tierra y Agua, and guests can also visit the neigboring communities (La Granadilla or Aguas Agrias. Another interesting option is to visit the community of Charco Muerto, located in front of Lake Cocibolca. Tourists can also organize horseback riding tours to the South side of the the Mombacho volcano (US$10) and workshops with young artisans of the community (US$0. 50).
