We finally made it back to Nicaragua and Casa Silas. The room and bed was just as comfortable as we remembered and Rob was just as friendly and helpful as he was from our previous visit. Rob has some great suggestions on where to eat - he is very aware of what is good and new in and around Granada. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

My 2nd visit to Granada, Nicaragua, was enhanced by the wonderful owner of Casa Silas, Rob, and his sweet dog Silas. Rob was extremely prompt from the first email I sent asking questions about his B&B, and things to do in the area.

On the day of my arrival, Rob and Silas welcomed me with their friendly smiles and made me feel right at home in their beautiful house. Gorgeous pool and cool paintings done by Rob himself! Breakfast in the AM was tasty and filling with local jams, fruit and coffee.

Rob went above and beyond, showing me around Granada and some of his favorite places to grab a taco, platano con queso and a cold cerveza! The next day, we took a nice stroll to the lake and had lunch. The following day a friend joined us and we all ventured on the bus to Laguna de Apoyo and San Juan de Oriente! A superb day!

We couldn't have asked for a better companion to accompany us while exploring Granada. Rob was more than a host, he became a friend to us. I highly recommend staying at Casa Silas for more than just the beautiful house, you will have a gracious host as well! You will leave Granada already planning your next visit!

We stayed at this charming B & B in September and were delighted with the service. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts amazing and the lovely easy-going friendliness of the owner much appreciated. We highly recommend Casa Silas.

Casa Silas is a beautiful and very comfortable B&B. My room was very big, with AC; the bed was really great, so I always had a wonderful rest after days filled with activities. The breakfast was delicious (especially those fruit shakes and the local cheese); I liked to sit at the big table, looking at the street and people passing by. The house has an open layout, I enjoyed (and envied) the patio, with the hammock and swimming pool. Rob is an incredibly attentive host. On the first day, he accompanied me on the trip to the volcano Mombacho, which was very helpful, because I didn't need to figure out how to get there (we used public transportation, but he knew all about it). For those who are not ready to venture out there by themselves, Rob has a driver and can arrange any excursion.
Casa Silas is located very close to the central Plaza (2 blocks to the North, 2 blocks to the East), but away from the noise and bar/restaurant environment of the main tourist street (La Calzada). I like its closeness to the main market, it allows for more contact with the local way of life. Very recommended, and the price is great too!!!

Wow! How beautiful can a little b and b be? An artist and a former hotel manager are the proprietors...so use your imagination! I don't want to take away the pleasure of walking into this place by giving you the details. it was nice to be surprised. The hospitality is superb, and I feel as if I'm in a private very beautiful hotel, complete with little pool (and bar, if you want.) Usually, travel is a little scarey for me..but there is no anxiety when staying here, because Janik and Rob will tell you all you need to know, and the lovely dog Silas will make you feel at home.

My wife and I arrived here to a wonderful reception from Janik, Rob and Silas. The rooms were beautifully laid out and spacious in a fabulous setting. The breakfasts were great and the guys really know how to advise you on getting the best out of the area. We ate in different restaurants every night and were never disappointed. This is a beautiful quaint place with plenty to do. The local Granadians and Nicaraguans in general are extremely friendly and helpful people. Needless to say Janik and Rob are the antithesis of this attitude. I would highly recommend Granada and Casa Silas when there. On returning to Granada we will be booking to stay with the guys.

We stayed at Casa Silas for three days at the end of November...Wow! There is something special about this place that makes you feel so comfortable, in every sense of the word...Great location, lots of room - in the bathroom as well - fantastic breakfasts (those smoothies!), the pool...But the most important factor is our hosts...Rob and Janik are wonderful people who will make you feel at home without being intrusive; they will gladly help you any way they can...When it's time to go, you feel like you're leaving good friends behind (and that includes Silas)...

A wonderful B&B. An awesome Casa Silas breakfast started our days off in Granada.
It's in an ideal location. We walked everywhere, and felt very safe.
Fabulous places to eat, all within walking distance.
The pool in the court yard welcomed us home at the end of a hot day in the market.
Having internet access, air conditioning in the bedroom and a hot shower was a great bonus!
Janik and Rob are awesome! They helped us find medical help for my husband, [small surfing accident] and gave us wonderful shopping and dining advice. I loved watching Janik interact with the local Granada people. She is very kind to her new Granada family and friends.
We can not wait to go back!!!

We spent 11 wonderful nights at Casa Silas in August 2009. Rob and Janik are great hosts and are a wealth of information about Nicaragua.

Casa Silas is an excellent place to relax and have a feel for the "real Nicaragua". Cooling down in the pool or laying in a hammock with a book in hand helped make our vacation relaxing. Breakfast was always delicious and plentiful (the smoothies were my favourite! - thanks Janik).

We look forward to returning to Casa Silas on our next trip to Nicaragua - December 2010.

Casa Silas is a beautiful and tranquil place. Janik serves the best breakfast in the whole of Nicaragua and you'll never want to leave here! The pool is a welcome refreshment. Rob and Janik are kind hosts and are always there for you. We really recommend this nice homely place as the best of Granada!

I recently returned from a stay at Casa Silas. It is my new home away from home. I am an adoption attorney and travel to Nicaragua quite frequently. I found the accommodations at Casa Silas very comfortable with that home away from home feel.

Casa Silas has a very intimate atmosphere and the owners are always there to help you with any questions. Each morning the owners prepared a fabulous breakfast to help me start out the day.

Casa Silas has wireless internet and a North American phone connection (Vonage) which allowed me to keep in contact with all my clients back home while attending to my adoption business in Nicaragua.

If you want hip, stylish, and comfortable accommodations, choose Casa Silas. You can't beat the price. I already have my next stay booked!

My husband and I spent 4 days in this wonderful B&B in a renovated old colonial house with beautifully landscaped inner courtyard. The swimming pool provided refreshing relief from the hot afternoon sun. Breakfasts were gourmet with lots of fruit and great coffee. But most importantly, Janik and Rob provided us with invaluable information about Granada and Nicaragua to help us plan our days in this fascinating country. We would definitely recommend Casa Silas for your visit to Granada.

If you're looking for a beautifully-appointed B&B in the heart of Granada, Casa Silas is the place for you. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights (the last of our 6-night stay in Nicaragua) and Janik & Rob were extremely hospitable, going above & beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home. The house itself is a gem (especially the gorgeous pool and the guest room), everything is beautifully-furnished and spotless, and the house dog Silas is one of the cutest pups you'll ever meet. We will recommend this place to all of our friends and family!

Casa Silas is a lovely find in Granada. Charmingly decorated, spacious bedroom and best of all, delightful hosts Janik and Rob, and their friendly dog Silas. We traveled all over Nicaragua and kept coming back to stay at Casa Silas. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

We planned on being at Casa Silas for three days and ended up staying for six! Janik and Rob were well-informed, fun and accommodating hosts and their place was beautiful. We felt completely pampered in the spacious, comfy bedroom and the courtyard with a pool and hammock. It was a totally no-pressure, relaxing stay and we hope to come back one day.

Janik, Rob and Silas were very welcoming and really helped us get oriented our first few days in Nicaragua. Janik taught us some of the Nica foodways with her breakfast feast, Rob drew a little walking map of Granada for us, and Silas led us on a hike to Posintepe for a great overlook of the city that many travellers never see. I look forward to visiting again if I have the chance to return to Granada. Thank you!

We stayed at Casa Silas for a couple of nights over Christmas (2008). The place is great. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, and with style and character. Janik and Rob were very welcoming, friendly and helpful beyond expectations. Their dog Silas is good fun too- very enthusiastic! We really enjoyed our stay and strongly recommend this place. Thanks for the yummy breakfasts Jan!

    Hi Rob and Janik

Thanks, this is great, we do have clients who like a nice quaint BB, and not the all inclusive, I will pass this along to my fellow co-workers.
